With the franchise gearing up for some of its most ambitious leaps yet, the challenge was clear: reenergize a fatigued fan base and find new ways to engage and excite them beyond what they’d come to expect. We needed to meet fans where they were, tap into what they loved, and reintroduce the world in a way that felt fresh, immersive, and impossible to ignore. So we moved beyond thinking of it as just a show and started building something much bigger. We turned it into an always on cultural movement, a living, breathing universe that extends far beyond the screen. Instead of simply broadcasting to fans, we showed up as one of them, engaging, participating, and helping shape the conversation as the ultimate TWD fan. Our season 8 social campaign brought that vision to life, reigniting the fan base with a refreshed look and feel. Through new concepts and activations, we expanded the experience beyond the screen, transforming social feeds into a deeper, more immersive extension of the Walking Dead universe. The scale and impact were undeniable. Across 2,528 posts, the campaign generated over 4M impressions, sparked more than 1.7M comments, and drove 87.7M likes. It also attracted 811,981 new followers, turning sustained engagement into meaningful audience growth and proving the power of an always on, fan first approach.
